Whenever someone asks about my #Coachella experience(s), I always tell them everyone should experience the festival at least once!
I was extremely, EXTREMELY salty about Beyoncè dropping out of the festival line-up this year 😩, but was beyond excited for my sister to get her first taste of Coachella 😝. I'll admit... this time around wasn't as easy nor as care-free as the first; but it was still an amazing time with great memories to go along with it.
"Life is about unforgettable moments. Don't wait for them to show up; make it your goal to create them. You live longer once you realize that time spent being unhappy is time wasted."
- Alisha Ricki
Now that I've been blessed enough to enjoy multiple Coachella adventures, I'm ready to share a few tips for any of you who plan on attending next year's festivities 💃🏽. 2018 advanced sales have ended, but don't worry - this post will get you ready for general sales later on this year!
If you're a music, fashion, or travel lover, this one's for you 😉.
As Coachella continues to grow bigger each year, there are more people you'll have to fight through for that one shot at seeing your fave artist in the flesh lol. VIP tickets will make it a lot easier to get that Insta-worthy fangirl moment; but if you: like crowds, don't care about being close to the stages, or fancy mosh pits - general admission is the way to go.
I highly suggest following the official Coachella Instagram page and turning on notifications so you know when tickets go on sale.
- Getting There
If you're not from the SoCal area flying into Palm Springs or LA is your best bet. Depending on your approach to travel, you'll either go for saving time, or saving money. For budget travelers, flying to LAX & taking a shuttle bus is a great option. Shuttle passes from the airport to various hotels are available through Valley Music Travel.
On the other hand, if you're like me and prefer convenience - I suggest flying to Palm Springs and renting a car. That way you can make moves on your own time, no need to worry about schedules or surge fares.
- Where To Stay
AirBnb is a good choice for a large group. Not only is it more affordable, but also offers a more cozy setting. Whether you choose a hotel or an AirBnb, try to stay within 15 minutes of the venue. After those long fun-filled days - you'll thank me for it!
- What To Do
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Coachella is more than just music! That being said, you should definitely take advantage of all the activities and cool exhibits at the festival. Get to the venue early on Day 1 so you can explore the grounds, find the good eats 😋, beat lines to activities, and get familiar with the location. The view from the ferris wheel is particularly amazing so you should definitely check that out.
- How To Plan
The Coachella app is an awesome tool to organize your personal schedule. Make sure to map out each day the night before so you don't waste time/miss performances due to getting lost 😕.
- My Best Tip
Let loose, have a blast, and make tons of memories 😝😝
